You want to distinguish yourself from the other entries, to make the most of the opportunity.




Remember before you start writing the application form, why you now have such an interest in this course or job.
But how do you actually write such an application form? And how do you start?

Before writing

You already know why you would like to go to this business or this education, but have you thought about why they need you? Find out what your qualities are. Make a list of your strengths. Examples of strengths are:

– adaptability
– Assertiveness
– Collegiality
– Creativity
– Discipline
– Perseverance
– Empathy
– Energetic
– Human knowledge
– Observative
– Entrepreneur
– Practical
– Socially set
– Curiosity
– Independence

And so on. Of course, do not just make a list of all your positive features. These are the things that you can apply during your profession or study. Human knowledge does not have so much added value when you study autotechnics, and energetic are not for a law study.

Sender information

At the top of your letter, even when it comes to online submission, first state your own information. The top line is your full name. Below you will find your home address and postal code, and below your e-mail address and phone number.

Business information

Under your own information you will find the same information about the company where you send your application form. Sometimes it is chosen to add these two columns to another, for a different type of layout. Your own data will be put in the top right corner.

Subject

Describe as short and powerful as possible. For example, “Internship nursery”, or who wants to make it more fun, “Why applied psychology and I match”.

Preamble

You open your application form. If you do not know who will read the letter, write “Dear Sir / Madam”. Do you know who will get the letter? Then state the name of this person. “Dear Jan”.

Introduction

In the first sentence, it must always be clear what you are talking about, you are interested in a company or education. Hereafter you will briefly describe what you are so appealing about this profession or training. It is good to address this personally. For example, write a short anecdote that you have been organizing things well from the beginning, or for a long time having a poster with the anatomy of man in your room. A personal introduction distinguishes you from other candidates. Hereafter you will tell you how this interest has grown, and why you would like to make it your profession or training.

Middle

In the middle paragraph (or paragraphs) you indicate your qualities. You name your personal qualities that you can use well in this field, for example, that you are a very socially-oriented person. Do you write the application form to a degree program? So please indicate what you would like to learn. A training is only suitable for people who do not know anything about the subject. Tell us what you’re so interested in and what you want to know more about. Also try to explain what you want to know more about it. You can also appoint your points to learn at an internship. When applying for a job you don’t mention your points to learn.

However, it is good to mention one weakness of yourself, preferably one that will not be in the way of work and actually not so relevant. Do this purely to indicate that you have self-knowledge, each one of us has a bad feature.

Closure

You close your letter with a positive note. A few examples for the closing:

“I think your training fits very well with me. I would like to hear if and when I could talk about my motivation! ”

“I think we can mean a lot to each other. I would like to continue my motivation for this function in a personal conversation. I’d love to hear when I could come over for a conversation. ”

Make sure you never end the letter completely. Of course, you want them to contact you. Let this also know.

Signature

You sign your letter with “Sincerely,” and your own name below.
